Cleaning Outside: Remove dirt and grime from your siding with a pressure washer. Buy or rent a pressure washer, and use it to remove dirt, grease, and mildew growth from your home’s siding without scrubbing. Lay tarps or other heavy plastic over plants to protect them from damage. While you’re at it, clean the porches, patio, and deck too.
Use a pressure washer to clean patio cushions without scrubbing. Remove dirt and stains easily from your patio cushions by spraying with a pressure washer. Be sure to test whether the fabric can withstand the pressure before cleaning the entire cushion.
Clean outdoor rugs with baking soda and water pressure. Rinse dirt and debris from the rug, then sprinkle liberally with baking soda. Work the baking soda into the rug with a deck brush, and scrub away dirt and stains. Let the baking soda sit for 10–15 minutes, then spray clean with a hose. Allow to air-dry in the sun.
Use Sal Suds to clean outdoor toys. Rinse toys with the hose. Put 1/2 tablespoon of Sal Suds in a bucket, and add about 3 gallons of water. You can also use liquid Castile soap or natural dish soap if you prefer. Dip a microfiber car cleaning mitt, and use it to scrub dirt and grime from the toys. Rinse clean, and air-dry. The microfiber mitt makes this process a bit easier, but you can also just use a cloth or sponge.
Wash your cooler after every use. If you clean your cooler every time you use it, you’ll never need to deep clean it! Simply rinse with the garden hose, and allow to air-dry completely before storing.
Deep clean your cooler with baking soda and vinegar. Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda and enough water to form a paste. Apply the paste to any stains inside the cooler, and let them sit for 15 minutes. Use the rest of the paste and a bottle brush or sponge to scrub the cooler inside and out. Pour some white vinegar into the cooler to dissolve the baking soda and deodorize the cooler. Rinse with the garden hose, and allow to air-dry in the sun before storing.
Clean your flowerpots to keep your plants healthy. Use a brush to remove dirt and debris. Fill a sink with warm water, and add natural dish soap and 1 cup of white vinegar. Hand-wash the pots just as you would your dishes, rinse well, and air-dry. If you don’t want to wash them in your sink, use a storage bin or bucket, and clean them outside with the hose.
Spray your latex paint roller clean with the hose. To make cleanup a breeze, hold your paint roller in a 5-gallon bucket, and hose it down clean with the garden hose. Use the hose to spin the paint roller to remove paint in a flash, then wash with soap, rinse, and dry.
